Bluewood Golden Girl
Black Trakehner 15yo mare by Titelheld out of Goldquelle
When I got Ella, she had been a broodmare and I had to reback her from scratch. Despite losing one of her eyes to uveitis, she has gone from being just backed to qualifying for the Winter Championships at Medium in 2021 within 3 years. We were selected for the 2020/21 British Dressage Foundation Academy and commitment and development saw us selected for the prestigious Sport England funded National Academy!
Last year we had so much fun representing England and the North & East Region at the Youth Home Internationals and at the Sheepgate Under 25 Championships where Ella put me on the podium both times! I'm so happy and hope to continue developing with Ella as she's so talented. Watch this space!
Bluewood Donaustern
Bay Trakehner gelding 7yo by Titelheld out of Donaukaiserin
I bought Star as a 2yo colt and had to patiently wait for him to mature. He needed an extra year physically before starting and I'm glad I waited. Star was backed as a 4yo in 2021 then turned away until spring and restarted in 2022. He made his BD debut in September, and in just 2 outings qualified for the Winter Regionals gaining scores of up to 76%. I'm so proud of how well he has developed and really excited for his future
Bluewood Donaukrieger
Black Trakehner gelding, 5yo by Elfenstein out of Donaukaiserin
Then there's Dave, aka Bluewood Donaukrieger. Dave is an exciting 5-year-old Trakehner gelding, and Star's younger brother. I lightly backed Dave last summer and he is now spending the winter and spring growing and maturing. Whilst he appears to be mentally ready to go, I'd like to give him a chance to get stronger physically before pushing too hard. It's not a race! I'm looking forward to seeing how he comes on after his winter break. I'm sure it's going to be a rollercoaster trying to juggle university, young horses, and a job!
Jensen III
Jensen is a 14yo 16hh grey gelding by Jaguar Mail out of a Belgian Warmblood mare. He is my mum's horse but she enjoys sharing him with me. The idea is that she hacks and does low level dressage while I take him on faster fun days out and jumping to give him variety
